Naomi Watts is picked one of this year Toronto's biggest career reinventions by the Chicago Tribune

Naomi Watts ("While We're Young," "St. Vincent")

Watts has never been known for her comic timing. But she's crackles in "When We're Young" as one half of a dissatisfied middle-aged couple (Ben Stiller plays her husband), who become obsessed with a pair of twentysomethings. We've always known Watts could make us cry, but watching her breakdance, take hallucinogens and generally behave like a mad woman, makes us realize she can make us laugh too. And she keeps up the funny act as a pregnant Russian prostitute who mounts Bill Murray in the crowd-pleaser "St. Vincent."

*remark: It is nice to read this, though I do not agree it's her career reinvention coz in my opinion, she is always excellent just being over-looked all along.

She is an excellent and versatile actress, a full package, also beautiful.

Love her in every movie she has made so far.

I agree with the article and Watts is hardly over looked. She has gotten plenty of praise and noms throughout her career.

It is a reinvention or rejuvenation considering some of the awful schlock{Adore} she has made recently. I'm looking forward to watching this new work.

Naomi Watts is definitely the most under-rated and over-looked actress out there, as most serious movie-watchers would agree. If not, she should have already got at least half a dozen each Oscars and the Globes.

Gosh, she doesn't need to RE-invent her career, she has been consistently inventive, it is those so-called film critics having no idea how good she is nor how to appreciate her work.

I agree--Naomi is more than often over looked, and I have a feeling its because she's not in any way dumb or calls attention to herself by taking nude photos, marrying many times to (in)famous people, etc. She's into her work and doesn't do anything weird. It's in no way because she is not beautiful or smart or talented!

With a solid work record as hers she has so far only got 2 Oscar and 1 Globe nominations, well, you can compare that to her BFF Nicole Kidman, veterans like Kate Winslet and starlets like Amy Adams..., enough about over-rating, a-kissing and hyping....

Glad to hear that "While We're Young" is being picked up widely internationally.
