It always feels good to run into an old friend—especially when you’re Nicole Kidman and Naomi Watts.
The actresses and longtime BFFs, who are both at the Toronto International Film Festival this weekend, got the chance to fit in a quick catch-up sesh at InStyle’s portrait studio downtown. As Kidman was posing with her Lion co-stars Rooney Mara and Dev Patel, Watts watched from the side and then swooped in to surprise her pal as soon as they wrapped. “Nic! How are you?” she squealed as she gave Kidman a huge hug.
After a minute of girl talk, they leaned in for a snap of just the two of them. "Will someone grab my phone?” said Watts, who wanted to capture the impromptu moment for herself as they walked and talked on their way out.
Watts also got to spend some quality time with partner Liev Schreiber on our set as they promoted their upcoming release, The Bleeder. In the film, she plays the wife to Schreiber’s character, boxer Chuck Wepner.
